PORTRAIT OF ANATOLY A. MKRTCHYAN, DIRECTOR OF ECTERNAL RELATIONS DIVISION OF DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC INFORMATION (DPI)
Abstract:
The portrait of Anatoly A. MKRTCHYAN, director of the external relations division, department of Public Information (DPI) Mr. Mkrtchyan started his career in journalism in 1954 as Head of the department of culture of the Yerevan-based newspaper, Sovetakan Hayastan. In 1965, he was appointed as Deputy to the editor-in-chief of the international information department of Novosti press agency. In April 1972, he was assigned for four years to the soviet embassy in Washington as counselor for four years to the Soviet embassy in Washington as counsellor and editor of the English language monthly, Soviet life. From 1967 until his present appointment, he served as director of the information department of the council of ministers of Armenian SSR. He received a diploma in history and international relations in 1954 and a candidate of science degree in American history in Programme, he studied American history at Columbia University in New York, and he studied American history at Columbia University in New York.
