Helping Communities prepare for and respond to disasters [Youtube]
Abstract:
Abstract: Since 2014, UNICEF has been working with the Nepalese Government and communities to protect children from disasters. Its Child-Centred Disaster Risk Reduction (CCDRR) programme is funded by the Margaret A. Cargill Foundation.More than 90,000 children have participated in this programme, which builds children’s capacity to identify risks and hazards in their communities as well as teaches them to develop seasonal hazard calendars and mobilize the community to manage the identified risks.
