POSITIVE PROTECTION TRAINING MANUAL – PARTICIPANT’S HANDBOOK
Abstract:
Tremendous effort has been made by Nepal’s government, civil society organizations and development partners to combat HIV through the National HIV/AIDS Strategy 2011–2016. This strategy guided the national response to HIV/AIDS by embracing principles of universal access and human rights and a multisectoral approach; and by acknowledging the myriad challenges facing people living with HIV in Nepal. Women affected by HIV in Nepal have reported violations of their rights, particularly in health care settings, being subject to forced and coerced sterilization or abortions, or denied access to sexual and reproductive health services. Yet, according to a UNDP Report released in 2013, not a single case was officially filed claiming discrimination or abuses in a health care setting. This is why this toolkit is needed and why it is vital for Nepal’s fight against HIV. #UNDP #UNAIDS #HIVAIDS #Women #HealthCare
