Global Initiative on Out-of-School Children (JULY 2016)
Abstract:
Children not attending school are in most cases ‘invisible’ because they do not appear in school records, and are, therefore, not considered in policy and decision making. The lack of data and information on children who are the most excluded from education is making it even more difficult to reach them. While initial work has begun to include out-ofschool children in Nepal’s Education Information Management System, further scale up and strengthening of this initiative is needed, and advanced tools and methodologies will be necessary to ensure that out-of-school children are systematically identified and tracked. This study attempts to address such issues and provide recommendations for more targeted interventions from policy to school level to bring children into schools. #UNICEF #UNESCO #GON #2016
