Nepal- Operational Space: 1 - 31 May, 2007
Abstract:
The incidents – indicated by the shading on the map – represents the total number of reports received, and not necessarily the total number of actual incidents. During the month of May, the total number of reports of violations was similar to preceding months; however there was a deterioration in the nature of the violations. In the Eastern and Central Terai operational space further deteriorated. Programme implementation is being hampered by the worsening security situation, including the rise in abductions and extortion.
