Nepal: Operational Space: December 01 to 31, 2006
Abstract:
Highlights: 1.The decreased number of reported BOGs violations reflects some improvement in ‘operational space’. 2.However there has been a deterioration in the Eastern Terai following the increased number of security incidents and indirect threats to staff. 3.Travel movement and transport of resources became difficult on the Mahendra Highway, due to frequent road blockades and bandhs. 4.The level of demands for ‘donations’ by CPN/M appeared to decrease, though there were new reports of non-violent requests by other political parties.
