Ramechhap Scoping/Field Mission Report OCHA Charikot Hub
Abstract:
OCHA Charikot Humanitarian Hub was established a week after the 12 May earthquake (EQ) aftershock to support operational coordination in three districts, namely, Dolakha, Ramechhap and Okhaldhunga.OCHA Charikot conducted a scoping/field mission in Ramechhap to have a better understanding of the coordination set-up between the district authorities and humanitarian partners and the remaining humanitarian needs of the earthquake-affected population. (Annex D: OCHA Charikot Team Terms of Reference and members).The three member OCHA team during the field mission was able to meet with the Chief District Officer (CDO), Local Development Officer (LDO), NGO Federation, District Education Officer (DEO), Women and Children Development Officer (WDO), District Technical Officer (DTO),Water Sanitation and Sewage Division Officer (WSSDO), District Health Officer (DHO), the government offices and a Project team of Swiss Development Cooperation (SDC), Nepal Red Cross Society, Save the Children and UNICEF. All meetings were held in Manthali municipality.The team also visited Ramechhap muniticipality to observe the District Hospital and the distribution of Earthquake ID Cards and Cash (Annex B: Names and details of the persons interviewed).
