Nepal Monthly Situation Update, Issue No. 60 (May 2010)
Abstract:
Highlights: 1. The Central Natural Disaster Relief Committee (CNDRC) endorsed recommendations emanating from the Disaster Preparedness and Pre-monsoon planning workshop. 2. Week-long strike disrupts humanitarian aid operations across the country: Food distribution temporarily suspended in food insecure districts in the Mid West Region. 3. Nineteen diarrhoeal deaths reported from Mid West and Far West Region districts. 4. On-going political deadlock continues and the three major parties have not reached agreement despite intensive negotiations.
