Abstract:
Source: http://www.humanitarianresponse.info/en/operations/nepal/document/150507-health-cluster-meeting-minutes Assessment of the health care needs and treatment of the injured is on going in the affected districts. Disease surveillance system is in place and there are no outbreaks. More than 48000 injured patients have been treated. Health facilities are damaged the most in the 14 identified disaster district. Sindupalchock is the hardest hit district. Critical cases are airlifted to Kathmandu from the affected districts. (Presentation attached for detailed information). Health interventions exclusively for older people in emergency are needed. Older people are more vulnerable in emergency situation. Older people are more susceptible to various communicable diseases: lower immunity, more exposed to some infections: influenza, respiratory chest infections, malaria (Presentation attached).
