Preliminary Impact Analysis Based on available field data (as of 1 May 2015)
Abstract:
This note developed by the UNDAC Assessment Cell tries to provide a preliminary overview of the impact of the earthquake building upon data collected in the field over the last few days. The main sources are a rapid assessment exercise initiated by WFP using an observational checklist, observations from the UNDAC field visits and data provided by the Government of Nepal. The WFP led exercise which attempts to categorize the severity of the earthquakes’ impact at VDC level, focusing on shelter damage, displacement, basic services and food security, indicates that following areas are most affected (pls. see map below and link to detailed report and map).
