Do No Harm Orientation- Learner's Kit
Abstract:
DO NO HARM is an instrument for conflict sensitivity developed by Mary B. Anderson and Collaborative for Development Action, Inc. (CDA) through the joint effort of many NGOs, international donor agencies and agencies of the United Nations. While development projects are designed to produce a positive change in the lives of their beneficiaries, they sometimes bring about unintended negative consequences which can do more harm than good. As a result, development projects – including peacebuilding initiatives – can exacerbate or even cause conflict. Conflict sensitive approaches to peace and development were created to address this problem by helping organizations recognize how to maximize their positive impact while minimizing their negative effects.
