ILO Conventions And Nepal
Abstract:
The General Conference of the International Labour Organization, Having been convened at Geneva by the Governing Body of the International Labour Office, and having met in its Third Session on 25 October 1921, and having decided upon the adoption of certain proposals with regard to the weekly rest day in industrial employment, which is included in the seventh item of the agenda of the Session, and having determined that these proposals shall take the form of an international Convention.Each Member may except from the application of the provisions of Article 2 persons employed in industrial undertakings in which only the members of one single family are employed.This Convention shall in any case remain in force in its actual form and content for those Members which have ratified it but have not ratified the revising Convention.

Abstract:
building,railway,tramway,harbor,dock,pier,canal,inland waterway, road,tunnel,bridge,viaduct,sewer,drain, well,telegraphic telephonic ins titillation,electrical undertaking,gas work,water work,or other work of construction,as well as the preparation for laying the foundations of any such work or structure As soon as the ratifications of two Members of the International Lab our Organization have been registered with the International Labour Office, the Director-General of the International Labour Office shall so notify all the Members of the International Lab our Organization.He shall likewise notify them of the registration of the ratifications which may be communicated subsequently by other Members of the Organization When notifying the Members of the Organization of the registration of the second ratification communicated to him,the rector General shall draw the attention of the Members of the Organization to the date upon which the Convention will come into force.The General Conference of the International Lab our Organization,Having been convened at Geneva by the Governin g Body of the International Lab our Office,and having met in its Thirty-second Session on 8 June 1949, and Having decided upon the adoption of certain proposals concerning the application of the principles of the right to organise and to bargain collectiv ely, which is the fourth item on the agenda of the session, and Having determined that these proposals shall take the form of an international Convention,International Labour Organisation shall indicate whether the provision s of the Convention will be applied in the territory concerned without modification or subject to modifications; when the declaration indicates that the provisions of the Convention will be applied subject to modifications,it shall give details of the said modifications.When notifying the Members of the Organisation of the registration of the second ratification communicated to him,the Dire ctor -General shall draw the attention of the Members of the Organisation to the date upon which the Convention will come into force.Each Member for which this Convention is in force undertakes to pursue a national policy designed to ensure t he effective abolition of child labour and to raise progressively the minimum age for admission to employment or work to a level consistent with the fullest physical and mental development of young persons.
