Provision of technical Assistance to the Avian Influenza Control Project: UTF/NEP/061/NEP/B June 2008 – July 2011,Final Report
Abstract:
With the arrival of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in South Asia in 2006, the threat to Nepal significantly increased, as the country shares a long and porous border with India. In early 2006, the Government of Nepal (GON) endorsed a joint human and animal health plan: the National Avian and Human Influenza and Pandemic Preparedness Plan (NAHIPPP), which provided a strategic framework to prepare for and respond to this threat. The Government requested the support of the World Bank (IDA) to finance the Avian Influenza Control Project (AICP) with an operational plan formed around the NAHIPPP, which would be implemented over a four-year period, between 27 March 2007 and 31 July 2011. #TechnicalAssistance #HumanAndAnimalHealthPlan #AvianInfluenzaControl
