At today’s meeting between the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-
General (SRSG) Ian Martin and Maoist Chairman Prachanda, each accompanied by political and military colleagues, it was agreed to prepare to resume the second stage of registration and verification of Maoist army personnel as soon as possible. Military representatives will now meet to exchange views on lessons learned from the verification at the first cantonment site in Ilam and to consider the basis for a possible review of disputed cases.
