Young people remains to be vulnerable to HIV infection. There is a need to continuously support a comprehensive education and prevention program that focuses on safe and responsible behavior, continnum of care and support, and reduction or total elimination of sigma and discrimination against those infected and affected by HIV. Along this line, the education sector has a very important role to play, and contribution to makeNepal, through the National Strategy in HIV/AIDS 2006-2011, continues to provide utmost priority to young people. It has specific target related to young people’s knowledge on HIV transmission and prevention. To support the country, relevant UN agencies collectively supports the strengthening of the education sector’s response on HIV and AIDS. This study is part of the said support.
