It is estimated that Nepal has between ten and twenty thousand Tibetan refugees lining inside its borders. Soon after the first wave of arrivals, the Nepalese Government assisted by the International Committee of the Red Cross set up relief programmes to help the refugees. Milk and food distribution, medical supplies, housing, educational facilities and employment are included in the relief programme.
