Irrigation Project in Nepal with FAO Assistance in 1962

With assistance from the Food and Agriculture Oraganization (FAO), the Nepalese Government has started several irrigation projects.
This is the dam being constructed near the village of Gokarna. Nepalese workers fill the pillars with railing for the sluicegate will be fixed for adjusting the outflow of the Bagmati waters. Supervising are FAO engineer, Mr. T.S Subramanian and his Nepalese assistant. The waters will later be diverted by this and another dam and 2000 acres of land will be irrigated.
