Educational Needs of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Living in Western Kathmandu
PDF File Size: 992 KB | Download
Now in the ninth year of a complex internal conflict that has caused dislocation and disruption of lives and livelihoods, the challenge for social sector actors in Nepal has been to address the needs of families and communities caught up in the vortex of this conflict. Particularly challenging in this context has been the identification of those families and communities, who, migrate from their rural homes to urban areas in search of safety and security. Given the nature of the conflict, even in areas like Kathmandu, these groups continue to feel that they are within the reach of those they fled and so reporting is out of the question for many.
