Abstraction: A Female-Friendly Space (FFS) is a place that provides safety and security for women and girls in humanitarian settings. After the devastating 2015 earthquake in Nepal, UNFPA set up 14 FFS in the districts most affected by the disaster. Yoga classes were part of recreational activities carried out in FFS. In addition to recreational activities, FFS offer information, psycho-social support, appropriate referrals, strengthening linkages with government institutions and education to make vulnerable women and girls feel safe and empowered as well as to restore their dignity and well-being.
