Abstraction: Purna Bahadur Majhi of Khimti DC, Ramechhap returned his hometown after spending few difficult years as a migrant worker abroad. When he returned his village, he was determined to start something of his own. But his friends and relatives didn’t support his idea of starting a fish farm. Despite all odds, with support from Micro Enterprise Development Programme, a joint initiative of Government of Nepal and UNDP funded by Australia, he was able to dig a pond while women entrepreneurs were starting pigsty enterprise. But when Purna Bahadur and his team were building the pigsties, the April 2015 earthquake struck leaving all the houses, pigsties and ponds in ruins. Today, a year later with the support from UNDP, Purna and his community member are back to business.

2.38 min: Purna Badhur shows his condition when the MEDEP team visited to his farm.
2.47 min: Purna Badhur Majhi again proposed MEDEP team for proper pigsties. The MEDEP team agreed and provide them necessary assistance.
2.55 min: But when Purna Badhur and his team were building the pigsties ,the April 2015 earthquake stuck leaving all the housing, pigsties and ponds in ruins. They were not sure what was happening to them, they thought that, this is the end of their life. Their houses were also collapsed, they were going through miserable time.
3,30 min: Purna Badhur along with his team received two days psycho social counselling training from RELRP which immensely helped them to overcome their trauma.
3.40 min: After training, RELRP also helped Purna Badhur and his team to reconstruct the pigsties damaged by the earthquake.
3.44 min: Santa Majhi says we are happy after building these pigsties it has enables us to prevent the pigs from going out and destroying farms.
4.16 min: Pigs were provided by MEDEP before the earthquake and RELRP also supported them.
4.36 min: Santa Majhi says my children were young, I had no source of income, I used to work whole days but earns merely 40 rupees but after receiving this support I was able to earn 30 to 40 thousand by selling this piglets.
5.19 min: After the earthquake the fish pond was also cracked, that has started to leak and many fish were lost. But RELPR provided plastics and pipes to repair the pond as well as 10,000 fish lings and a fridge to help Purna and his team revive their enterprise.
5.36 min: Purna Badhur says our happiness has no bounds, they feel that they will be able to build up to their previous stage.
5.49 min: Before earthquake,they had managed to sell around 500 kg fish, during that time the rate of fish was Rs.400 kg per kg. And they were able to make monthly income of 15 to 20 thousand rupees.
