Abstract : Two powerful earthquakes struck the central part of Nepal on the 25th of April and 12th of May 2015. Nearly 9,000 people died and hundreds of thousands more lost their homes, their assets and opportunities to earn income. Between 700,000 and nearly 1 million people are estimated to have been pushed below the international poverty line of US$ 1.25 a day. As part of the multi-sector emergency response, UNICEF has supported the Government of Nepal to provide a cash transfer of NRs. 3,000 each to more than 400,000 vulnerable people in the 19 districts most affected by the earthquake. This film tells the story of Bal Kumari Pahari, who benefitted from the programme.
