Abstract : Earthquake-affected families living in temporary shelters in Gupsipakha camp for displaced persons in Laprak, Gorkha district, which was the epicentre of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake on 25 April 2015 were further impacted by heavy snowfall and extreme cold this winter. Much needed relief was provided with vulnerable population there received UNICEF emergency top-up cash grant of NPR 3,000 along with the regular government social protection scheme. The cash grant was distributed to around 434,000 vulnerable people in 19 districts – 14 most affected and an additional five identified by the Government’s Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA).
