The Norwegian support to the Resident Coordinator’s Office aims at strengthening the core coordination functions within the UN system in Nepal to support the Government of Nepal in the fulfillment of its national development priorities. The project will ensure the resources for coordinating the United Nations in their efforts for the realization of the Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals in Nepal. The Resident Coordinator’s Office will receive one million US$ and the project will run until the end of 2020.
At the event, Norwegian Ambassador to Nepal, H.E. Mr. Lasse Bjørn Johannessen said: “I am very pleased to continue Norway’s support to the work of the UN in Nepal. This project will allow the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office to sustain the core coordination functions necessary to implement the principles of One UN. It will also assist in the realization of the national development objectives of the Government of Nepal and the implementation of key priorities highlighted at both national and international levels”.
