UNICEF’s contribution toward these national results have been instrumental in building the necessary institutional and individual capacities required for national development efforts. Sustained advocacy has resulted in the establishment of the posts of Child Protection Officers by the Government in all 75 districts nation-wide to prevent and respond to violence, exploitation and abuse of children. In addition, a landmark National Strategy to End Child Marriage in Nepal was developed, bringing together the concerned stakeholders from Civil Society Organization, Government, technical experts and UN agencies.
