BREAKING NEW GROUND: A municipal review of HIV and rights programmes and services for men who have sex with men and transgender people in KATHMANDU, NEPAL
PDF File Size: 1.14 MB | Download
"I came across a situation during a district training that changed me... A
participant’s brother was [a] transgender [person] who was not able to
disclose this and was forced to marry. When the participant shared the
story of her brother I felt deeply moved and I realized how important it is to
support another class [of gender] other than just men and women."
– Staff member at Nepal Red Cross Society1
This review was conducted in 2014-2015 as part of the broader UNDP South Asia Municipal HIV and Rights Review, which investigated the HIV and rights programmes and services for men who have sex with men and transgender people in seven South Asian cities. The UNDP South Asia Municipal HIV and Rights Review was implemented by APMGlobal Health. We gratefully acknowledge Lou McCallum, Director, APMGlobal Health who designed and coordinated the study with Scott Berry and Jan Willem de Lind van Wijngaarden.
