Address by Mr. Ian Martin Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Nepal delivered to Amnesty International-Nepal 27 January 2006
PDF File Size: 366 KB | Download
AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL Nepal has placed considerable emphasis on seeking to prevent violence against women. In Nepal, and in countries throughout the world, this remains one of the most significant human rights challenges. Human rights defenders face the task of continuing to address the long-running causes of violence against women in normal social conditions, and are faced, tragically, with seeking to protect women from an added vulnerability to violence in conflict situations.
