Kirant Rai Community of Eastern Nepal to Carry Out Inventory of Their Intangible Heritage

The culturally rich Kirant Rai Community of Eastern Nepal will identify their
intangible heritage, prepare an inventory and develop safeguarding plans as part
of capacity building workshop on “Community-based Identification, Inventorying
and Developing Safeguarding Plans of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Kirant Rai
Community of Nepal”.

ince 2012, UNESCO and the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation have
carried out capacity building workshops in intangible cultural heritage -
“Implementing the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding the Intangible Cultural
Heritage”, Kathmandu, 2012, “Community-based Inventorying”, Jiri, 2013,
“Preparation for Nominations to the Convention”, Kathmandu, 2013 and
“Developing Safeguarding Plans for ICH”, Kathmandu 2016.
