This note provides information on the key experience and lessons learned over the importance of gender issues and how they were addressed in the rehabilitation process. It will also examine the challenges facing women ex-combination following the war and the contribution to the UN inter-agency rehabilitation Program (UNIRP) in supporting the transition of VMLR back in to civilian society.
