Maternal mortality has become one of the leading causes for the death of women in Nepal. Various factors are responsible for the occurrence of maternal mortality, specially among adolescent girls. Nepal has achieved impressive progress in reducing maternal mortality, from 850 in 1990 to 258 in 2015 with the help of various means and measures.
UNFPA's response to maternal mortality in Nepal has brought about various measures in order to decrease the mortality rate and sustain those measures for better maternal health.
