Integrating Agriculture In National Adaptation Plans

As Nepal is an agricultural country and the sixty nine percent of the popoulation are involve in agriculture.Agriculture contributes thirty four percent to Gross Domestic Product. In Nepal men are more engage in agriculture.The factors which has affected the agriculture are rapid climatic change,dependence on rain water for irrigation,emergence of new diseases and pets,lack of resources to invest in agriculture,flooding of farmlands,poor knowledge and skill of farmers,Lack of on-farm employment within the village.

The various adaptation action undertaken by Nepal are: National Agriculture Policy for food security and poverty alleviation,National Adaptation Programme of Action (NAPA) included adaptation aspects in major sectors like forestry,agriculture, water resources and health,Climate Change Policy for the adoption of effective measures to address adverse impacts of climate change,Climate Public Expenditure and Institutional Review.
