Salvaging, Screening and Inventorying of Carved Wooden Elements of Hanuman Dhoka Complex UNESCO
PDF File Size: 10.46 MB | Download
This document is published by UNESCO Which states the condition of world heritage sites and the principal monuments in the square, the Talezu temple is the oldest and was erected in 1576. Till date this temple is one of the massive and more embellished than any other temples of Nepal. This is the only temple that is supported by two layers of struts and three layers of spine walls. There are additional struts inside the main walls above the ground floor. The superstructure and architecture of it is still not fully studied which is felt urgent necessity.

In previous year following the occupation of the palace by King Prithvi Narayan Shah, the architecture although made higher than before the taste retained same. The Nautale is an example. The conspicuous changes of architecture are noticed from the time of Bhimsen Thapa who without any thought changed the southern facade of Mohanchowk into presents shape.
