This study was carried out to assess the impact of Micro Enterprise Development Program (MEDEP) in the socio-economic condition of poor, women, Dalit and indigenous nationalities (Janajati). It also sought to assess the contribution of the program in achieving the MDGs, particularly MDG-1,3,6 and 7; Contribution to address the issues of social inclusion and women empowerment; the effectiveness of MEDEP's morality and the contribution in transforming conflicts into peace. The study used a mix method approach which combined the quantitative and qualitative techniques. To determine the net changes due to MEDEP, the difference of difference method was used

Of the 25 districts covered by MEDEP during the first (1998-2003) and second phase (2004-07), the study sampled nine districts which not only included first (Parbat, Nawalparasi, and Dhanusa, Pyuthan and Dang ) and second phase (Sindhupalchowk, Udayapur, Kavre Planchowk and Kailali) districts, but also all the five development and three physiographic regions.
