The two main trends in operational space visible throughout the reporting period are firstly that the newly emerged Sanghiya Tharuhat Mukti Morcha, a small underground group believed to be linked the Tharuhat Autonomous state council, was busy collecting funds from INGO/NGOs in Nepalgunj and Dang. Requests for donations were specifically targeted at Tharu members of staff. Secondly, the Marksvadi Young Tigers, an underground group which appeared in March 2010 in Surkhet, Banke and Dang, was attempting to extort money from individual staff members in Banke and Dhanusa during the reporting period.
