The microenterprises development development programme was lunched 1998 at the inititave of HMG/N and techenical assistance of UNDP.This programme was envisaged to help attain the poverty reduction target determined under the ninth five year plan (1997-2002)by creating additional job opportunities through the development of micro-enterprises.One of the programme's key strategies being demand driven, the programme initiates with the districts level area potential, socio-economic and market survey. This enable the programme to select viable sectors of enterprise development in the district. the prograamme is a process oriented multi partner programme having special thrust on market research for product development and linkages.
