नेपाल सरकार,पुरातत्व विभाग र लुम्बिनी विकास कोषका पुरातत्वविदहरुले यूनेस्कोको कार्यक्रमका लागि दर्हम विस्वविद्यालयबाट आएका अन्तरास्ट्रिय विशेषज्ञहरुको सहयोगमा तिलौराकोटमा पुरातत्वीक अध्ययनकार्यलाई पुन: सुरू गरेका छन् । तिलौराकोटमा भगवान गौतम बुद्धले राजकुमार सिद्धाथ गौतमको रुपमा उनन्तीस वर्स बिताएको राजकीय सहर हो । भगवान बुद्धको जन्मस्रन लुम्बिनीको संरक्षण तर व्यवस्थापन सुदृढिकरण परियोजना (दोस्रो चरण) (Strengthening the Conservation and Management of Lumbini, the Birthplace of Lord Buddha, phase 2) को एउटा अंशको रुपमा रहेको यो अध्ययनलाई पुरातत्वीक अध्ययन पुरातत्व विभागका पूर्ब महानिर्देशक कोशप्रसाद आचार्य र दर्हम विस्वविद्यालय स्थीत सांस्कृतिक सम्पदामा पुरातत्वीक आचारनिति र अभ्यासका यूनेस्को अध्यक्ष प्राध्यापक रोविन कनिङ्घमले सङयुक्त रुपमा निर्देशन गर्नु भएको छ । यो परियोजना जापान सरकारको आर्थिक सहयोगमा यूनेस्कोले लागू गरिरहेको छ ।
