The World Health Organization’s Regional Office for South-East Asia (WHO-SEARO), in collaboration with the Department of Nutrition for Health & Development, WHO-HQ and the Ministry of Public Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nepal, organized a regional workshop on National Nutrition Surveillance, in Kathmandu, Nepal from 30 November to 2 December 2009. The workshop was attended by participants from eight Member States including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Indonesia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand. In addition, national professional officers from WHO country offices in India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Timor-Leste attended the workshop. Partner organizations – the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the World Food Programme and the United States Aid for International Development (USAID) – also participated in the workshop.
