Hetauda municipality is located in Makwanpur District of Narayani zone and lies in central development region of Nepal. Hetauda municipality lies in the southern part of Makwanpur district and is located at the junction of two major national highways i.e. East-West highway and Tribhuwan highway. The municipality is divided into 11 wards and shares the 2.12 percent of national urban population. Hetauda municipality is facing rapid influx of migrants especially in the recent past decade from the Terai and peripheral regions due to the conflict in the region. The total population has nearly doubled and land price has risen nearly 3 times in the past two years. The pressure of urbanization is being faced not only in the urban areas and market centres but also the semi-urban areas in the fringe of the municipality.
