On 25 April, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal affecting more than eight million people. Within 48 hours of the disaster, the Emergency Relief Coordinator announced a $15 million allocation from CERF to help kick-start life-saving work. The money helped partners to quickly scale-up the humanitarian response and provide immediate aid, including the provision of clean water, food, medical supplies and emergency shelter.
