Eradicating Gender-Based Discrimination in Education – UNESCO /CERID Seminar Media Advisory
PDF File Size: 151 KB | Download
The main objective of the event is to find out ways to change the perspectives of girls and women in education and to outline elements for a strategy to curb gender-based discrimination in education. Gender-based discrimination in education is both a cause and a consequence of deep-rooted disparities in society. Poverty, geographical isolation, ethnic background, disability, traditional attitudes about their status and role all undermine the ability of women and girls to exercise their rights.
