A joint submission by three Nepali coalitions of civil society organizations (NGO Coalitions) recommended that Nepal ratify, inter alia, the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance, the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families, the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees and the Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and its Protocols, the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, the Optional Protocols to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and to the Convention against torture and other cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment or punishment, the Additional Protocols to the Geneva Conventions, and that it accept the individual complaints procedure under the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and the Convention Against Torture. A number of organisations called on Nepal to ratify the United Nations Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children.
