Efforts to eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities and advance inclusive growth are directly linked to how we manage our planet’s terrestrial ecosystems and the goods and services that they provide. Terrestrial ecosystems– the different landscapes that comprise roughly 30 percent of the earth’s surface including forests, grasslands and desert– provide us with jobs, livelihoods, food, fuel and medicine.
