Highlights:
1. Medical Teams, at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), are carrying out their function smoothly and so far no suspect cases have been identified. All the necessary logistics are in place.
2. Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD) and Avian Influenza Control Project (AICP) are providing further support to the referral hospitals in order to ensure the hospitals are better equipped. All the required logistics as per SOPs are in place at the airport.
3. Surveillance activities in the Early Warning and Response System (EWARS) sites have intensified and the EDCD will receive reports on a daily basis. A Control Room has been established at EDCD. The EDCD and the AICP are coordinating all ongoing activities around the clock. The EDCD has identified Infectious Disease Hospital as referral center for isolation cases.
