PDF File Size: 223 KB | Download
The UNAIDS World AIDS Day report for 2012 reveals that new HIV infections in Nepal have been drastically reduced over the past 10 years. The government estimates that there are about 50,200 people living with HIV in Nepal with an adult prevalence rate of 0.30 percent in 2011.More than a decade has now passed since the implementation of the United Nations Personal Policy on HIV. Based on this, ‘UN Cares,’ launched in Nepal in 2009 creates an environment that promotes compassion and understanding and rejects all forms of discrimination and fear.
