HIV is having a serious impact in our workplace. Indeed, within the UN globally, 1.4% (616 of 44,000) staff are estimated to be living with HIV. However, the vast majority of them do not know or do not reveal their status at work, for fear of being avoided by their colleagues or being dismissed on other pretexts. The UN Learning Team was established in March 2008 to support the implementation of the UN Cares programme in Nepal. Currently, it is strengthened with 26 volunteer members from 18 UN agencies (ILO, OHCHR, RCHCO, UNAIDS, UN DISPENSARY, UNDP UNDSS, UNESCO,UNFPA, UN HABITAT, UNHCR, UNICEF, UNICEF ROSA,UNIFEM, UNMIN, UNODC, WFP and WHO). They are all working voluntarily giving their time for our own rights.
