The UNDP and the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Nepal, have considered micro-enterprises as the enterprise that have up to five employees, with a value of investments (excluding land and buildings) of up to 1,430 US$ for manufacturing (up to 715 US$ for others) and a turnover of up to 14,306 US$ (ILO, 2005). Micro-enterprises are small businesses, employing a few workers, operating with low costs, utilizing the available natural resources, and mostly prevalent in remote areas of developing countries (Donovan, etal, 2006).
