Wages In Asia And The Pacific: Dynamic But Uneven Progress
PDF File Size: 449 KB | Download
Over the past two years, wage growth in Asia and the Pacific continued to outperform most of the world. As the ILO’s Global Wage Report 2014/15 shows, wages in Asia and the Pacific have risen almost two-and-a-half fold since the beginning of the century. For the region’s 706 million wage workers and their families, these substantial wage gains have helped to translate economic dynamism into higher incomes and living standards – although inequality remains a concern and the benefits have not been shared as widely as would have been possible.
