BARHABISE, Sindhupalchowk - She pauses for a moment when asked about the damages caused to her family by the devastating Nepal earthquake of 25 April2015. Seconds later,70-year-old Purna Maya Magar, from Ghorthali village of Sindhupalchowk, the worst-hit district by the quake, mumbles at a loss for words to describe it. Ms. Magar was one of some 200 women and men, who trekked for about four hours to the nearest town, Barhabise, last week, to collect cash provided by Mercy Corps, one of the agencies providing humanitarian support to the victims. I do not know where to start from and where to end; you cannot see anything standing,” said the mother of nine, when asked by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN-OCHA) about the damages caused by the quake. “With this money, I will build a hut to live in.”
