PDF File Size: 303 KB | Download
In collaboration with the Non Formal Education Center, UNESCO is organizing an open
photography contest with the theme of ‘Women’s Literacy’. Recognizing that powerful images can produce impact to affect social change, the objective of the contest is to raise awareness on the complex but crucial issue of women’s literacy in Nepal, by assembling different perceptions through the lens of talented Nepalese photographers.
The contest provides an opportunity for talented Nepalese photographers, both amateur and
professional, to produce work that has a bigger impact on Nepalese society using their very own skills and interests. Winners will be awarded with cash prizes and certificates. The deadline of submission is 25 August 2015. Photographs are judged by the UNESCO panel and the decision will be based on the relevance to the theme and creativity. The photography contest is one of the series of activities planned for celebrating the International Literacy Day, taking place on 8 September every year. Other activities include Nepali essay writing contest among school students, community radio programmes, Community Learning Centress celebrations, etc.
