Meeting notes and actions and decisions:
- The Nepal Earthquake Assessment Unit provided an overview and analysis of assessments carried out between 12 May and 28 July in the earthquake-affected districts, including in priority districts with high severity index.
- The Unit noted that there were 33 village district committees (VDCs) in the priority districts for which they do not have any assessment data. The Unit reiterated the request for support from cluster coordinators to share any available data in order for the HCT and the ICC group to enhance its collective understanding of the humanitarian situation.
- The Unit also invited cluster information management officers and cluster coordinators to join the Assessment Working Group meeting on 7 August, where a more in-depth discussion will be held.
- Various cluster co-leads indicated that data is available.
- Noting that government could improve on their data collection and sharing, ICC group through the Assessment Working Group, Information Management Working Group and OCHA will advocate with the government for better information management. In addition, OCHA was requested to approach district authorities to obtain key baseline data.
