International Jazz Day celebration: Let’s cherish the music of freedom - Jazz (30 July 2015)

The 2015 International Jazz Day celebration will kick off at Moksh, in Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur on Thursday, 30 July at 6 pm with a Free Concert organized by the Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory in association with UNESCO and the American Embassy. The event was initially scheduled for 30 April but due to the earthquake, the program had to be postponed. The concert will engage people from different cultures and backgrounds to share the beauty of jazz music, to promote dialogue among cultures. It will provide an enthusiastic platform for aspiring Nepalese musicians. The Concert will feature performances of Jazz bands like Doxy Ltd, ZigLag, Nepal Army Big Band along with Indira and The Dhime Girls, Hari Maharjan Project and Nirantar Yakthumba Jazz solo. The famous US jazz artist and band director, Billy Buss, will specially come from the USA to perform at this event.
